[aprssig] New N-N weird packet?

We recently updated one of our digis (KB8VEE) to the NEWn-n setup.  Now I
have a weather station that is transmitting via MI2-2 (Using state of
Michigan 2-2) and this is the packet I am getting:

K7D3>BEACON,KB8VEE*,WIDE5-3,WIDE6-6,qAo,KD8ATU-1:!4353.53N/08550.53W_KC8LCP
Baldwin Airport, Lake Co, MI

Can anyone tell me why when it is sending to MI2-2 it is getting translated
by KB8VEE to WIDE5-3,WIDE6-6?  I have to assume a programming error occurred
on KB8VEE?
