Guys, I don't defend Google or Big Brother but would just note the Google
imaging system still sometimes chokes--randomly--on loading images and that
means sometimes you'll get a blank on the images you request for no reason other
than "it ain't working right".
Also, despite assumptions to the contrary, high-resolution imaging on the ENTIRE
globe just isn't available to everyone or ayone, including Google. Sometimes a
high-res pass occurs during bad weather, and the only image tile that can be
found is one from a lower-res source. Or from a source that blocks the high-res
image because it is of commercial interest and available only to BUYERS.
If Big Brother wants to play, the odds are you'll ever even notice. Like when
Soviet cartographers (once known as among the finest in the world) simply moved
entire villages, rivers, and plants in order to make sure the US couldn't use
their own atlases to attack them.
Nothing new about that.
