The 'A' band is capable of receiving a sub-band of 118MHz, but the 'B' band
is not. The 'B' band is capable of using 144-148 as a sub-band only.

So, if you have your 'A' band doing APRS, you can only do UHF and the block
of VHF between 144 and 148. You won't be able to tune 120 or 154 on the 'B'
band.

You *can* set the 'B' band to do APRS and then use the 'A' band for your 120
or 154 listening. However, the 'A' band won't do UHF then.

As mentioned, the D700 is a lot more flexible, but getting it in a smaller
package results in some limitations.

FYI, there are two Yahoo groups dedicated to D7 discussions (and another two
for the D700).

Hope this helps. The manual is just a tad vague on this.

Presently I'm using Band A for 144.39 APRS.  Can I use Band  B to monitor
any thing other than 144 to 148.  I would like to set the Memory or VFO to
listen to local air at 120 or public safety at 154.  The manual isn't clear
and I have yet to be successful at this.  Tnx.
