What is it the GPS35 outputting? Try hooking it up to a serial port on a PC
and fire up a terminal program and see if you can see the NMEA data stream.
Preferably do this where the GPS can see the sky. Even better than a
plain-jane terminal program, use something like VisualGPS or similar to
display the data. Look for the freebie version at www.visualgps.net.
Maybe the GPS isnput outputting any NMEA data at all.

What is the GPS35 connected to? TNC? Tracker? D7? D700? What
I'm really trying to find out is if it is a device that can store a
location. Maybe it is your tracker / TNC / D7 / D700 that has the
static location stored in it.
