Hi,

Using xastir as a satellite ground station - cause aprsd does not do server
filtering

I notice a few things that could be addressed to make it more user friendly
?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
1) XASTIR passes local posit info to INET from RF but seems to not pass
TELEM from satellite (which is what I am after)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------

example - tnc.log (shows local tnc posits)

# Thu Sep 15 19:51:03 EST 2005
# Thu Sep 15 19:51:33 EST 2005
VK4CKG-2>R7P4W4,WIDE2*:`PT9l +>/"4,}vk4ckg at hotkey.net.au
VK4CKG-2>R7P4W4,WIDE2:`PT9l +>/"4,}vk4ckg at hotkey.net.au
# Thu Sep 15 19:52:03 EST 2005
# Thu Sep 15 19:52:33 EST 2005

example - igate.log (shows igate of local posit)

# Thu Sep 15 19:51:33 EST 2005
IGATE RF->NET(N):VK4CKG-2>R7P4W4,WIDE2*,VK4TEC-10*,I:`PT9l
+>/"4,}vk4ckg at hotkey.net.au
TRANSMIT: IGate RF->NET packet on device:0
IGATE RF->NET(N):VK4CKG-2>R7P4W4,WIDE2*,VK4TEC-10*,I:`PT9l
+>/"4,}vk4ckg at hotkey.net.au
TRANSMIT: IGate RF->NET packet on device:0
# Thu Sep 15 19:52:03 EST 2005

example - tnc.log (shows telem from satellite)

# Fri Sep 16 00:09:05 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:09:35 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:10:51 EST 2005
PCSAT2>BEACON,SGATE,WIDE:T#959,096,103,146,090,094,11111111,0010,1
# Fri Sep 16 00:11:21 EST 2005
PCSAT2>BEACON,SGATE,WIDE:T#960,145,143,019,001,212,11111111,0011,1
# Fri Sep 16 00:11:51 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:12:57 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:13:27 EST 2005

igate.log - missing igate data (but local poist stuff goes ok as above)

# Fri Sep 16 00:06:50 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:08:05 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:08:35 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:09:05 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:09:35 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:10:51 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:11:21 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:11:51 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:12:57 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:13:27 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:14:25 EST 2005

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
2) Because the log files do not have the date / time out the front, it makes
it really hard to use the data for a web page (or search)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------

<how come you need to write so many date and times to the log files ?>

# Fri Sep 16 00:09:35 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:10:51 EST 2005

# Fri Sep 16 00:11:51 EST 2005

Is it possible to get :- (or make a flag, "DATE OUT FRONT" , and format
"DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS"

# Fri Sep 16 00:09:35 EST 2005
# Fri Sep 16 00:10:51 EST 2005

This way you can write cgi web pages to filter on a match on a per line
basis.
