That'd still be quite ideal though..   The KISS kludge isn't 
documented for the EJ-41U I don't think, it does accept the command 
but just doesn't work right.. The D700 TNC is also on a header by the 
way, but it's a standard flat ribbon cable.   I'm not sure but your 
idea might apply to that as well.
