Ok, I got bored enough to calculate it.  I get 0.490 watt/hours per gram for
the Tadiran cell, and 0.267 for the Energizer.  Or 1.25 watt/hours per
dollar vs. 0.72, if that's the more critical design factor.  =]

For comparison, gasoline gives you something like 13 watt/hours per gram.
Not counting the weight of the equipment needed to turn it into
electricity...
