Sorry, I thought it had been well discusssed
here.  The original 9.0 rom does not do proper dupe
checking on digipeats and since eliminating dupes
is fundamental to how the APRS network works,
they should not be used.  Yes it will digipeat, but
it also genertes numerous dupes...  Bob

I'm trying to help a fellow ham figure out why his KPC3+ w/9.0 doesn't
digipeat at all.

Instead of beating around the bush, can you just tell me if 9.0
digipeats at all?  All you say is to plan on getting the new firmware.
 Why?  What's wrong with the old?  Does it not function at all?  Does
it not function correctly?

I've searched your fix144.39 page but I didn't see anything there
(forgive me if I missed it), other than "Kantronics 8.2, 8.3 and 9.0
ROMS all have to be treated differently."

Can someone please explain what is wrong with the 9.0 ROMs for those
of us that may have missed it?
