hi Ryan,
if that can inform you ,i have one here with a Kenwood tk-705 as a digi.
it is located in a shed that has no heat ,just electricity for our repeater.
at about -20 in the shed ,it is beginning to have difficult tx and rx too so
to resolve this problem i have been at Wall-Mart and baught a little 
container that is used to store,,,,,,beer.
i install the tnc and the radio in it and the heat that the radio is 
generate heats the inside of the container.
simple and cost me 6.95 cnd

but
leave a open space to exhaust the to high temperature

you could install a pc fan to circulate the heat too
