Here's one more: 1296 MHz OPERATION!

Remember, the D700 can not only do 9600 baud as is,
but they also RECEIVE on 1296 MHz just fine too...
Thus, the SUPER-SITE could output the entire 9600 baud
feed on 1296 MHz at no added expense to the SUPER-
USERS

Thus the only person that has to purchase a 1296 transmitter
is the super-site. Everyone else uses their D700 just fine to
receive on 1296 and TX on the 2 meter 9600 baud input to
the super-site.
And since they are fixed location users, then small highgain
beams at 1296 are easy to use.

This opens up the 440 band at the SUPER-SITE for cross
links between Super Sites.

Wow. ANyone used their D700 to receive 1296 MHz yet?

I can't resist. I consolidated all the topics relating to
a SUPER-SITE at 9600a baud and made a WEB page:

http://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/aprs/superlan.html

It condenses all the 9600 baud UHF stuff that has been
on the bottom of my "fix14439" web page into a good
concrete example... de Wb4APR, Bob
