A few of us on FireNet played with this.  I used a service monitor and an 
aircraft radio to receive the packets.
I have fair results using a sound card but do not like the use of soundcards 
for anything.  Others did not have such good results and I think gave up on 
the project.  If you are going to do this, then an investment in a read 
demodulator is necessary, IMHO.
