Implementing this by using objects with specific attributes sounds like a
quick and easy solution.

BUT

For an event, I envision having several "standard" views of the event. It
would be nice to send a message "if you look at view X..." to have
participants "see" the same thing that you are looking at. Having to search
the area for the "view X" object in order to click on it to activate it does
not sound very user friendly. Having a list of published views would make it
much easier to find and switch to the requested view.

Maybe this information is published as an object as has been described here
(with an EYEBALL and RNG), requiring minimal modification to the spec, but
have these views presented in a list.
