I know Clyde N2EDE and Dale KD4BNQ personally, so far I haven't seen any problem
with N2EDE's digi, the last I checked, the path was WIDE,WIDE. For a while that
was all we had here. KD4BNQ's digi is serving as the local iGate, its located a
good hour south of me, I only see the occasional packet from his in Roanoke. We
now also have FD K4FDS's digi K4FDS-5 on one side of Roanoke and mine KE4NYV-5,
will be on the other side.

I was a flatlander when growing up in Virginia Beach where a single digi could
just about serve the whole area. Here in the western half of Virginia with the
mountains, its a whole other ball game. We're finding, more digi's, with short
paths are helping to cover the "holes" alot better. The "smart digi's" help
even more, reducing the channel load with excessive packets and preventing
ping-ponging.

I am attempting to do this sir. But its very hard to get a bunch of old hams to
listen to one "stupid" 22 year old.
