I delete these on my TH-D7 as they waste 1 of the 40 slots and provide
almost no info (location importantly). Is there a way to filter these out
on the D7? These are 4 or 5 of these I my local area alone.

Subject: [aprssig] HID packets

>Bob, what's a "HID" ?
Its a 10 minute ID packet from a TNC. It was in there for
conventional PACKET operation to send out an ID packet
that tells what your TNC's PBBS and NODE callsigns are.
But those functions are not used on APRS and so it
serves no useful purpose on 144.39. Hence we don't need
nor want those 10 minute packets flooding our APRS network
and blocking other packets...
Thanks
Bob
