Notes from PSWS / TangerineSDR call of 06-29-2020

1. Dave Whitten has updated his magnetometer code based on feedback from
Dr. Hyomin Kim. It seems to be progressing well. Dave Larson is generating
data files from the code.

2. Dan is working on scripts to install WinHPSDR, WSJT-X, and Gnuradio for
Raspberry Pi 3 and 4. They compile/build in different directories. Dan is
using a 32G SD card. Gnuradio takes 3-1/2 hours to natively (ARM) build on
R-PI-4 and 6 hours on R-PI-3.

3. Bill has (Raspberry) PiHPSDR generating IQ UDP packets in TangerineSDR
format and is able to consume and use that data. The R-PI clock has too
much wander to be usable for precision measurements.

4. Rob has a full SQL database working for his WSPR spot database,
including a Grafana client available. To SQL query the wsprnet.rog database
goto: http://wsprdaemon.org/timebasedb.html The site also has a link to
Tutorials.

5. Jonathan is looking at a 3 or 4 channel very low frequency (VLF)
receiver based on a soundcard audio codec chip (as ADC) and an interface to
provide receiver interface and time-stamping. He has developed a
requirements document. VLF-RX-Tools is an open source software package
currently being used to capture VLF data from a soundcard being used as
part of a receiver.

6. Scotty is still awaiting libraries for his selected Intel FPGA (dash 6).
The CAD layout person has started building the CAD libraries for the FPGA
and other parts for the Data Engine.

7. Nathaniel discussed and showed example plots from analysis of WSPRNet
and RBN spots. He discussed skip-zone and some solar flare effects. Some of
the papers are on or linked from the hamsci.org webpage:
