<body style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><div>I can understand how this would be useful for a human user, but I’ve written scripts that interact with a remote BBS and if the mode were to change it could cause the script to fail. For instance, the BBS might give prompts suitable for a human rather than the abbreviated prompts an automated remote would be looking for.</div><div><br /></div><div>Once a remote requests a specific mode, it should remain in that mode unless commanded to change.</div>

<div class="plain_line">I am not sure how hard this would be to implement.  I have been</div>
<div class="plain_line">playing with DPBOX on old Linux and new NetBSD installs.  One very</div>
<div class="plain_line">cool feature is that if it has you configured as a neighbor BBS it</div>
<div class="plain_line">will just give you the "chicken lips" prompt for a BBS, but the second</div>
<div class="plain_line">you initiate a user command, it will convert the session to a regular</div>
<div class="plain_line">user.  This is a very cool feature.</div>
