OK. I removed eth0:1 200.46.129.3 from Network
Intefaces. But, still can't comunicate Linux to the Jnos.

Next, I try disabled the Firestarter (Graphics
Firewall). Now, I can Telnet OK from Linux to Jnos and
viceversa. Something not setup correctly in the Firestarter Firewall that
is blocking the tun. Maybe, the Firestarter doesn't handle correctly the
tun interface after it is created in Jnos.

I am using an old Pentium 4 PC that in Graphics mode is
slow. I use the Graphics mode only to setup some system parameters and
mostly I use command line and webmin to administer in a faster way.

I use Firestarter graphics interface for an easy way to
setup the Firewall so I don't have to mess up with the IPTABLES. Not
sure If I disable the firestarter, the Iptables Firewall setting is
on.

I have before an old Fedora distro of 10 years or more
with Jnos in slatattach and many dev ptys to communicate with the FBB,
Dxcluster, XNET, etc. It was Running OK until that old PC 500MHZ crash and
can't repair. So, now installed a modern Ubuntu distro on another
not new Pentium 4 PC and have to figure out how to setup everything more or less
as running before.

Thanks,

eth0:1 as you use that ip number already for jnos!
That is why

Michael,

I didn't get your callsign,
anyways just try out the attached
autoexec.nos (basic JNOS to linux
connectivity with telnet).

Replace MMMMMM with your callsign. This
is a very simple config
that works very well on any slackware and
redhat based systems.

You have to make sure ip forwarding is
enabled :

echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

It simply has to work, once you see how it does, then you
can
go further with it. There are no ARPs or no IPTABLES or
anything else
needed for this basic setup. Try it out.

Maiko
