It seems bug #259139 is all about libtinfo missing from Debian. It
turns out a patch is available to circumvent the missing library. It
seems there are similar entries in libncurses.so.5 so that a simple
link saves the day.<br>

I've tried it -- it works.<br>
At least it gets me to the next failure [subject of another thread].<br>
<br>
SO -- if anyone else stumbles on the missing "libtinfo", there is a
simple work-around available.<br>
