Oh my - I'm replying to my own mail > not good...<BR>
I do now have some of what I was looking for - the AX.25 spec dated 1998 from tapr.<BR>
This is good news - and as you might expect it begins to answer the question I posed.<BR>
I find that JNOS reports header info in an interpreted way - not "raw"?<BR>

Armed with the new spec information I am making my way thru the trace data.<BR>
I have not finished yet, but my initial impression remains as before my first request.<BR>
JNOS seems to be issuing RR frames for text frames that have not been received?<BR>

Let me restate my initial question in the following way:<BR>

In other installs - are there strange interactions happening with NOS that seem related to information exchange?<BR>
Specifically do sessions seem to have trouble remaining "connected"?<BR>
Specifically does there seem to be lots of "overhead traffic" to sort out data and keep connected?<BR>

I hope I'm on a "goose chase" that will end with my finding JNOS is doing exactly what it needs to do and the only problem I'm having at this moment is lack of education. In the mean time - thanks for your ear...<BR>
