[nos-bbs] anyone feeling sense of obsolete with SDR and so on ?

I am not quite ready to do it, but it's been on my mind for a while ...

Been looking at the Airspy HF+ Discovery and/or other options.

and pondering ; how much of my equipment is suddenly permanently shelved ?

The teensy (robust) and SCS (robust, pactor) of course can stay, but
then I need
to feed audio to them some how. Consolidation of equipment. I still need
to TX, so
have to figure out a way to fit that in as well. I want to go as multi
mode as possible
with the limited equipment I have, and fit in SDR. It's all very
interesting, but to be
honest, an engineering challenge. Anyone else feeling this or
considering their
future setups ? Phil has ka9q-radio daemon project, gives you multiple
channels,
acts like a front end to the SDR ? Seems interesting, not sure. Yeah,
which way
to go. My radios are old, need to find a way to replace them at some point.

The TX factor is still the 'challenge' with all this SDR, unless you go
and buy yourself
a modern SDR rig, but I don't have (or can justify) the cash to get
myself one :|

Just thinking out loud ...
