Fatal error not to far in:

gcc -DUNIX -g3   -DDEBUG -Wall   -c -o wlauth.o wlauth.c
wlauth.c:31:25: fatal error: openssl/md5.h: No such file or directory

                         ^
compilation terminated.
<builtin>: recipe for target 'wlauth.o' failed
make: *** [wlauth.o] Error 1


Thought perhaps openssl was not installed and it wasn’t; I installed it and rebooted, but same error. Looked at /etc/openssl.cnf but it was above my paygrade. I’m using the unblemished makefile for 2k with no modifications.

Ideas please?
