[nos-bbs] Deleting a Corrupted Area

I had a power failure a few days ago, and it looks like my world area
is not receiving any more posts.  It lists the area as having new
bulletins, but when I go to list the area it says that there are zero
messages.  This is impossible because it is one of my most commonly
posted area.  How do I reset this.  Can I just delete the area file?
