Try the UZ7HO soundmodem... Price is right. Support is current. It
has the waterfall display and multiple decoders so it's no longer
necessary for the packet station to be on the exact frequency. 1200
baud and 300 baud on separate audio channels.

Appended at the bottom is a list of my last 'heard list' from
monitoring NET105... The soundmodem is running on Windows Box #2 and
it's currently attached by BPQ32 on Windows Box #1. (Soon, when the
JNOS box is finally on the local LAN - it (JNOS) will AGWPE attach
both the soundmodem and a couple other RF ports on the BPQ32 box.)

I had suggested uz7ho could look at supporting SCS Robust Packet:

  The TNC: http://www.scs-ptc.com/shop/products/modems/tracker-dsp-tnc

  The Robust Packet Net: http://robust-packet.net/

  The Robust Packet Net Manual:
http://robust-packet.net/Robust-Packet-Network-Manual.pdf

Folks were concerned about licensing issues on an independent Robust
Packet project so that didn't go any where. However those thoughts
and a comment at our Geek Brunch last weekend reminded me of another
opportunity.

If Andrei (UZ7HO) would like another challenge and to move the hobby
forward a step - he could put the FX-25 wrapper on top of his windows
soundmodem. FEC for better performance yet and still backward
compatible with standard AX-25.

I'll repost this note to BPQ32 where I believe Andrei is monitoring
and see what he and the others think of it.

PS. No TCP/IP connection to NOS tomorrow - maybe Sunday. Tomorrow
is a little adventure up to Bellingham WA to Linuxfest Northwest!

My UZ7HO packet log history - it's fun seeing more than APRS on the
air these days:
