[nos-bbs] verifying operation of ports

Does anyone have a way to verify that your JNOS ports are actually
operating?

 

Example, on one of our systems, a Kenwood TM-D710 with internal TNC is being
used.  The D710 was power cycled, which drops the TNC out of KISS mode.   So
traffic stopped until we discovered it a day later.

 

So, I'm wondering if there is some type of send/expect or other way to
verify that the TNC is indeed operating and responding to input from JNOS.
Any ideas?
