[nos-bbs] ubuntu 9.1 compile fails

Ubuntu 9.1, compiling jnos2.0f. libncurses5-dev IS installed. Fails
after ~18 lines with 'make: *** [ftpcli.o] Error 1'. config.h is the
untouched  config.dev.h .

Hint please?
