<p>Hi, <br>
<br>
I just released version 3.0 of Polaric Server. <br>
</p>
<p>It is an advanced web-based service to process and present APRS
tracking information <br>
on maps. Possibly along with geographical data from other
sources such as AIS. It <br>
was originally targeted for use by radio amateurs in voluntary
search and rescue <br>
service in Norway. It consists of a web application and a server
backend program <br>
(APRS daemon). In addition there are plugins that can be
installed separately. The <br>
server is written in Java and the client-webapp in Javascript
based on OpenLayers. <br>
<br>
The polaric-db-plugin utilizes a PostgresSQL database (with
PostGIS extension) to store data. <br>
It can for example be used to go back in time and see snapshots
or trails (for data that <br>
is stored). There is also a plugin for ais-data and one in
development for DATEX data. <br>

new authentication scheme (login) which is more flexible and
can be </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">used by the
mobile-app. HTTPS and use of frontend-proxy is now default. A
self-signed </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">certificate is used
(by default) so you may need to tell the browser to explicitly
accept it. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">Configuration of
server is now done by webapp through REST API and it is not
dependent </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">of Scala anymore.
Various fixes and updates... All packages (polaric-aprsd, <span></span>polaric-webapp2 </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">and
polaric-db-plugin) now use the same version numbering.</div>
</div>
<p></p>
<p>It is free and open source with deb packages and source-code on
Github. Even if it is <br>
originally targeted to Scandinavia, it can be used other places
in the world with proper <br>
configuration. Contributions are welcome. <br>
