<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"></head><body>The only successful time I have ever made a voice QSO triggered by APRS is when someone sent me an APRS text message asking to talk on a local voice repeater frequency.<div><br></div><div>Maybe we need to spec a text message (in addition to object report) format for the radios to do TUNE button support; how long would it take the manufacturer to add it in a firmware update? It took me forever to manually tune to the other station's frequency and CTCSS because I was in heavy traffic; if it hadn't been stop-and-go (heavy on the stops), I wouldn't have been able to set it up.
