I'd say the unit is officially dead, there hasn't been a software update available for it since 2013. I guess it's time to get a new GPS unit, maybe something that works as a GPS source for the TT4 and will show received data on the screen as well. </div><div dir="ltr"><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div align="left"><div align="left"><div align="left" style="font-size:small"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Matthew A. It did take a long time to get a lock, but that was inside the house (it never was good at that), and was doing a cold boot with no clue as to where anything was in the sky. Did your TomTom continue to have a hard time getting a lock, after the first time? How long does it take? That might be the fatal aspect to continued use of the older units.<br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Apr 24, 2019 at 12:58 PM MJ Inabnit <<a href="mailto:ke6sls@arrl.net">ke6sls@arrl.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">On 4/24/19 10:08 AM, Matthew Chambers via aprssig wrote:<br>

That is VERY interesting. We've noticed that the Kenwood TH74d is also<br>
doing that just a week ago! Radio sitting in ham shack south of me and<br>
dozens of plots around the actual qth! Was very odd when I zommed into<br>
his location and seen all the lines!<br>
