I have three of these units in current use, and since the firmware came out LONG after the new paradigm, no flashing required. It also is more powerful (configurable) than the old KPC-3's.<br>

Yes, there is some soldering to do (DB-9's) to mate with all my other APRS radios audio connections, and some configuration with a computer. That's what ham radio is about is it not?<br>

The board is so small, it can be installed inside radios too if you like, not too easy to update firmware though.<br>
