<p><font face="Arial">After more than a year, a new version of the
UZ7HO Soundmodem soundcard software TNC has been released.
After years of development, the Soundmodem is finally out of
beta! (Though the so-called "beta" versions have been
exceptionally stable.)</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">On 6 April 2018, version 1.00 of the UZ7HO
Soundmodem was released. As usual, I have repacked the basic
"dumb" zipfile on UZ7HO's site into a full-blown Windows
"wizard-type" installer that automatically creates an install
folder, desktop shortcut and Start Menu entries, includes a
manual, and displays a readme file. <br>

<p><font face="Arial">Change Log For Last Several Versions</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">***** Change Log *****<br>
<br>
SoundModem v1.00b changes:<br>
- Added "DW QPSK 2400bd" and "DW 8PSK 4800bd" Direwolf
compatible modes.<br>
The carrier frequency must be "1800Hz" (for a full
compatibility with Direwolf).<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.97b changes:<br>
- Fixed synchronization of drop down lists on the main panel and
in the modem settings.<br>
<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.96b changes:<br>
- Added quick mode selection on the main toolbar.<br>
- Added "HiToneRaise" option, that provide the high tone level
correction in dB.<br>
<br>
It can be useful for extreme condition, when your signal is
close to SNR<br>
limit and your radio has frequency response correction of
transmitting signal.<br>
<br>
This option relates to AFSK 1200 and 2400 baud modes and must
be used very<br>
carefully (you should to know the frequency response of your
signal).<br>
<br>
This parameter must be an integer number. Default value is
"HiToneRaise=0" (no correction).<br>
<br>
- Improved BPSK mode.<br>
<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.95b changes:<br>
- Added "Calibration" tool.<br>
- Fixed some minor bugs. <br>
<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.94b changes:<br>
- Added new 4xPSK100 FEC mode.<br>
- Added simple digipeater. The "MyDigiCall=" parameter in the
INI file.<br>
List of callsigns can be separated by comma, e.g
"MyDigiCall=XX1YYY,XX2ZZZ".<br>
- Added Font Settings.<br>
- Added ARP header parser.<br>
- Added INP3 parser.<br>
- Fixed IP header parser of fragmented frames.<br>
- Fixed TNC number in "K"-frames (now dual-channel mode is
working properly in XR32).<br>
- Fixed some minor bugs.<br>
<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.84b changes:<br>
- Limited length of frame for "Memory-ARQ" and "Single Bit"
recovery operations<br>
according to the size of the AX.25 protocol. It may reduce CPU
load and memory<br>
usage while blocking QRM.<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.83b changes:<br>
- Added 12 dB PreEmphasis filter.<br>
- Added 3 parallel decoders with NONE, 6 and 12 dB preemphasised
signal.<br>
By default this option is ENABLED ("All filters" in "Modems"
menu).<br>
On both WA8LMF's Track1 and Track2 records 1021 frames are
decoded.<br>
- Fixed some minor bugs.<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.81b changes:<br>
- Added QPSK 2400, 3600 and 4800 baud modes.<br>
Note: For QPSK 4800 optimal audio carrier frequency is
~2600-2700hz<br>
<br>
SoundModem v0.80b changes:<br>
- Added new BPSK 2400 baud modem.<br>
- Little code optimization.<br>
- Fixed some minor bugs.<br>
<br>
SCM v0.78b changes:<br>
- Added new BPSK 300-1200 baud modes.<br>
- Reduced CPU load.<br>
<br>
SCM v0.72b changes:<br>
- Added the KISS ACKMODE support.<br>
<br>
SCM v0.71b changes:<br>
- Fixed "Frame Collector" operation with MAXFRAME greater than 4
and IPOLL<br>
frames. By default it supports up to 6 frames into collector's
buffer now.<br>
- Added "TXFrmMode" option (that was available in 9k6/19k2
version). It allows<br>
to select the transmission mode of the frames.<br>
<br>
If set "TXFrmMode=1" then it will repeat only one frame on
each of REJ acks.<br>
It can be useful in poor condition jointly with MAXFRAME up to
4. If another<br>
station uses a TNC which can operate with "Frame Collector"
this option can<br>
improve a performance, especially on HF.<br>
<br>
If set "TXFrmMode=0" then it will always repeat the block of
the frames, of<br>
which the number is limited by MAXFRAME. It can improve the
efficiency in<br>
good condition. Especially with TNCs without "Frame Collector"
function.<br>
<br>
By default this value is "1".<br>
<br>
SCM v0.69b changes:<br>
- Improved DCD reaction on the AX.25 flags and zeros stream.<br>
- Changed default filters settings for the modems.<br>
- Added KISS TCP-Server<br>
- Added KISS Optimization<br>
- Added transcription of NETROM and IP traffic in the monitor
window.<br>
- Added some changes in L2 protocol.<br>
- Added IPOLL frames.<br>
- Fixed RNR frames processing.<br>
- Fixed waterfall bug under Linux (WINE).<br>
- Fixed some inessential errors.</font></p>
