This was typically while actually stopped in traffic or moving very slowly. I use APRSIS32 which allowed me to create an object at my location. After a bit of experimentation, I ended up creating a series of objects that I could turn on or off more conveniently. I only had to remember to kill the object although that wasn’t a big deal. For a time, I would get a text for accidents as well. When I could, I would move the object to the area of the accident, (e.g, Exit @ mile marker 32). This was not practical while moving for obvious safety reasons.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1f497d"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1f497d">After replacing my WedDT with a Winbook 7 I realized this isn’t going to happen simply because the screen resolution is just too small to control with a fingertip. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1f497d"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1f497d">Did anyone use the data? WAZE has an easy way to create “objects” that makes marking various things while driving. I create an “object” anytime I come upon them unless someone has already done so. Various object include; accident, object in road, road construction, etc. Operation is simple. There is a single button that brings up a “keypad” menu. From that menu, each item breaks into smaller choices. To create an accident object, the third press selects where the accident is located and the fourth sends the data. One of the beauties is that when the object is sent, it uses the location where the “create object” was first used. So if conditions don’t allow a quick completion, it still puts the object where it belongs. I like the situational awareness!
