    <p>If you decide to amend the APRS spec to standardize on a wind
      speed measurement,<i> please, please</i>, update the specification
      and not just put the changes on your web pages so people have to
      wade through stuff that includes your thoughts, plans, dreams, and
      experiments.</p>
    <p>While you're at it, update the spec with the rest of the changes
      that have been promulgated since it was written so everything is
      in one place.</p>

          been with us from the beginning.  But with more and more code
          being put into hardware and not easily upgraded software,
