<p><font face="Arial">I am currently on the annual road trip from
Michigan to Colorado for the annual Evergreen (CO) Jazz
Festival. As always, I beacon on all THREE APRS modes:</font></p>

WA8LMF (no SSID) Conventional 2-meter 144.39</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">WA8LMF-2 30 meters
AX.25 packet</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">WA8LMF-63 30 meters
MFSK16</font></p>
<p>This is an excellent chance to compare the relative performance
of the classic AX.25 packet and MFSK16 on 30m APRS.<br>
</p>
<p><font face="Arial">
The 30-meter modes are being transmitted by a Yaesu FT-857
(around 50W) running into a 30-meter Hamstick. Try comparing
the various modes. Note that as I go west, I "fall off the
edge of the earth after Lincoln NE on two meters. There is
absolutely no 2M activity west of there, for about 350 miles,
until one gets within range of digipeaters high in the Front
Range of the Rockies about 80 miles east of Denver, CO. This
is where the 30-meter modes really shine! <br>

<p><font face="Arial">I will be in the Denver/Evergreen areas
through Monday 1 Aug. The return trip will be Tuesday 2 through
Thursday 5 August.</font></p>
