<div dir="ltr">If you folks asking if it will work without the head, yes and no. If you mean without the ORIGINAL head, yes, it will - I replaced my busted-up (volume/squelch knobs bent and damaged) head with a new RC-D710 that I bought last year. I keep the damaged head to use as a TNC for various other projects like on my Maxtrac or with the interface kit, with any 2-pin (mic/sp) handheld.<div>
<br></div><div>If you mean will the D710 work without any head attached, you are correct, it will not function. It needs to have either the factory head or a RC-D710 on it. (I don't know about the head that comes with the 700.)</div>

I don't see anything much out of the ordinary, ok missing front panel is a<br>
bit odd, but not the cut cables so much.<br>

Used to work making 4cx250 tubes, so I could query the 4cx350 he has on<br>
offer, I know more than any sane person needs to no about those.<br>

As an aside I have several air cooled and conduction cooled 2C39's if anyone<br>

No, I don't believe so. My V71a, which is the same body just a different<br>
head, will not function without a connection to the head. I found this out<br>
last weekend when the radio would not turn on after moving a cable bundle.<br>
Turns out my control head wiring has a flakey connection which needs to<br>
reworked.<br>
<br>
Granted I was not computer controlling it right then, but until the head<br>
was properly connected the start-up beep would not occur.<br>
