Yup, not a lot of population in the spans in ND and Montana.
Well, at least there isn't in southern Saskatchewan and western
Manitoba
along the border north of ND and MT.
Looks like a nice trip.
I disagree Tony. There IS a lot of population in ND and Montana.
However, there is a lot of apathy WRT APRS from the northern clubs.
I REALLY want to see that change too. There are so many great hams
up there, but they just have not dipped their fishin' poles into the
APRS realm. Encourage them and send a note to the boards. I've
contacted many of the clubs myself. I road my motorcycle around the
USA and these were the two states with the worst coverage. However,
I am grateful that some of the hams do run full Igates.
The other rotten place was the far western edge of Northern
California. We solved that issue on my return! (thanks
Don/Alan/George!)
I know Bob has found many spots on the east coast too. I was very
grateful that my route along the east coast had exception coverage!

If I haven't said it before, THANK YOU ALL for the great APRS
coverage of nodes and full Igates.
