long-duration high-altitude balloon left the North American mainland,
after crossing directly over Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada at
approximately 17:35 US EDT (2230 UTC 2 December). <br>
<br>
It's heading out almost straight east across the <st1:place w:st="on">Atlantic
ocean</st1:place> at about 210 MPH (340 KM/h) at aproximately 110,000 feet
(33,500 meters). At it's present rate of travel, we will
have about another 90 minutes to two hours before it goes out of range of
igates in <st1:place w:st="on">North America</st1:place>. <br>
<br>
Tune your igate receivers to the North American APRS channel of 144.39 MHz by
around 0200-0300 UTC 3 December to try to igate it.<br>
<br>
The flight is having problems with the GPS receiver constantly unlocking and
relocking, yielding a rather odd saw-tooth-like track. The true track is
easily discernible, if you ignore or filter out the beacons with an elevation
near sea level. <br>
