(Attn: Pete Lovell, if you're on this
list. Is an ambiguous posit valid for an m/ or f/ range filter?)

Ok, that's the information I needed to see. Remove the colon from
your filter and I suspect your old one will work. The old
javAPRSSrvr wasn't/isn't very picky about the adjunct lead-in
word, but the new one is much more persnickety. And with the
r/42/-72/200 term in there, and no m/ filter, the server never
needed to know where you were located.

However, you'll see how javAPRSSrvr 4.0 converted your m/500
filter to an f/K1KWP/500. It is therefore expecting to know where
K1KWP is located. Looking at aprs.fi's raw packets, I see that
you are providing that information (see
http://aprs.fi/?c=raw&call=K1KWP), but I cannot help you with
why the filter isn't working.

Wait a minute! I looked a bit closer at your posit packet and it
is transmitting an ambiguous position! I suspect that the new
javAPRSSrvr (and maybe the old one as well, but you weren't using
an m/ filter before) may not consider an ambiguous position as
being "close enough" for any range-based filter from that
station's location.

But if you remove the : on the old filter, you should be back to
the way it used to work, without caring where K1KWP is thought to
be located.
