You can go ahead and turn your IGate back on. I think I just
figured out what's happening! Those packets are something trying to
use Konverse mode to command a TNC, but the TNC is just transmitting
the commands as the payload of a packet. Consider:
The first packet is "K" to put the TNC into Converse mode.

The second packet is the command to set the Unproto to SXUQXT
(probably 1/2 of the Mic-E coordinates) Via WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1.

The third packet is the other 1/2 of the Mic-E coordinate which is
why APRS.FI complains about it. The first half has been replaced by
APX201.

It's definitely coming from the source and not being mucked about by
anything in between, IMHO. It's just a waste of good RF bandwidth
until he gets it fixed!
the strange packets repeat in a strange pattern and are
entering the APRS-IS via different IGates and RF paths, I

Actually, if you take your IGate down for a while, we can
see if other IGates consistently gate the same stuff which
would leave your station completely off the hook and point
even more positively to a problem at the source.
