APRSdroid will run in the background on my Motorola Droid 1where U2APRS doesn't. <div><br></div><div>U2APRS is very slick and has messaging with text to speech for received messages. </div><div><br></div><div>I'm using APRSdroid for the fact that I can check email, and listen to Mp3's knowing the APRSdroid is faithfully beaconing in the background.</div>
<div><br></div><div>A feature I would like to see on APRSdroid is GPS on demand. The GPS goes active just long enough to to get a fix and then shuts down until the next packet is to be sent. This feature is available on on U2APRS.</div>

So far I can only find the pay version. However, the website mentions that if you like it, you can donate to the cause. If you have to pay to try it, it's kind of hard to try it out first, before you donate.<br>

Maybe I am missing it, but scanning the QR code and doing a plain search in the market both came up with the same single pay-for app.<br>

* The new Hub View gives a good overview of the local<br>

situation, including large-print<br>
callsigns and frequencies for<br>

* The Station Info shows details about a selected station,<br>

alternative SSIDs in use and the recent<br>
packet history. It also<br>
allows direct access to QRZ.com and<br>

good work on the website :)<br>
You can also track a station on the map<br>
from its Info page.<br>

* The Map View now allows displaying/hiding of APRS<br>
objects and allows<br>

* Improved performance: database access does not block the<br>

interface any more, allowing to cope even<br>
