This is the diode matrix we used to use in the NetRom day.<div><br><div><a href="http://home.comcast.net/~noutares/files/4x1diode.gif">http://home.comcast.net/~noutares/files/4x1diode.gif</a></div><div><br></div><div>Would it be of any use now???</div>

<div>Anyone remember the net/rom days in the early / mid 90's.... those nodes could be linked in a stack. I think one manufacturer called it "coax lan". And there were the diode OR matrixces for hooking the nodes together. </div>

<div>It sure would be nice if we had a multiport KISS controller that would take KISS frames from multiple TNCs, perform the digipeating functions and spit the modified KISS frames back out the same or different ports.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I think digined would do this, but it runs on a DOS pc. I'm thinking more along the lines of something running on a small processor such that the TT4 and T2s are based on. Most of these simple KISS devices don't use flow control, so the device would have ot be able to buffer a couple of packets from each port at a time. It'd probably require a real hardware UART.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Any ideas?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Additionally, it would sure be nice if the digipeaters kept up with the number of seconds the CD light was ON during a 10 minute period (_not_ number of sucessfull packet decodes), and published that number as network utilization telemetry along with their normal beacons. Note the utilization needs to be scaled up by approx 3x since 36% is considered the point of saturation in Aloha type networks.</div>
