However the problem, as I pointed out in my long post on the history of
SSTV, is that ALL modern SSTV is done from PC soundcard applications,
making it clumsy in the field. Conceivably, a netbook light-weight PC
might make field use practical since these machines usually have
built-in webcams. (The latest netbooks, now that the CPUs are
appoaching 1.5 GHz and beyond would have enough "horsepower" to run
mmSSTV analog SSTV and may even be able to run EasyPal digital SSTV.)<br>

[The Kenwood VC-H1 died five years ago, because of it's lousy camera
head, and because it's unbelievably awful support software package that
absolutely positively won't run on NT-based Windows (i.e. Win 2K, XP
and later). When XP displaced Win95 and 98 as the dominant home OS,
making the software unusable, Kenwood killed the product rather than
redo the turkey software. I maintain a Win98se virtual machine in my
XP installations solely to run the VH-H1 support software required to
upload/download images from the PC to the VC-H1.]<br>
