There's also been no regulatory requirement for aircraft in the US to upgrade their 121.5 ELTs.</div>
<div><br></div><div>(Of course, if you have one of the nicer 406 beacons with built-in GPS, it'll include your GPS coordinates in the data burst to the satellite, so it's likely not a lot of homing in would be required.)</div>
