One remark: the VX-8 is only able to have a path of WIDE1 - 1 or WIDE2
-1. There are 8 slots for a single path each. There is no possibility
for a choice of paths as in WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1 in a single slot.

OK, several important issues here.
1) Set the path of WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1 in your APRS HT and now it
will work via your Jeep or via any other digi that hears it, and
you don't have to remmember to switch paths in the HT depending
on where you are.
