Surely there are more than 3 hamfests over the next 30 days in
the USA?
Seeing local info on the front panel of your APRS radio is like
the old dead-band conundrum. That is, unless someone is
transmitting, there is nothing to receive...

I have been transmitting club meetings and swapmeet info as bulletins
with the APRS Bulletin plugin for UI-View that automates the
transmission of announcement by reading from an ASCII text file listing
message content and the start/stop dates for each announcement. I
usually start the bulletins at 15:00 local on the day before (to pick
up the afternoon "drivetime" commute APRS audience), and end them about
an hour before the event is supposed to end. [These are not hamfests
but regular monthly club meetings and monthly swapmeets in the SoCal
area.]
So far, I have received one email accusing me of spamming 144.39 with
unwanted info. [I suspect this is one of the clueless one-way tracker
types objecting to ANY bandwidth being taken away from AVL
operations....]
