<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> I placed the $ULTW in there to see if
the WX station was changing outputs on me by itself, as I've read elsewhere on
the this sig. Indeed it has, it was set up send the Data Logging Mode w/the
!!xxxxxxxetc. But by the time I walked back to the house (WX station/Digi is in
a shed at the base of a 68' tower atop the hill in backyard) and observed
w/APRSDOS, it was sending out $ULTW strings! The TNC is Ver 7265-8.2 and GPSPORT
comes back w/an EH?, when accessed remotely from the house station. So thats why
I have both strings in the GPSHEAD settings. So GPSPORT is not a valid command,
unless it's only valid when out of the INTFACE command
is changed back to TERMINAL. For that I have to climb the hill
w/laptop and connect directly, reset the TNC and reset ALL parameters again.
Which I've done w/both TNC's per Bob's reccommedations, changing only the 10 or
so commandshe suggensts after a hard reset to default parameters.

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> I thought it might be temperature related,
so WX station display head, Rig, TNC were all placed in a cheap styrofoam cooler
with a removable top. Same thing, would work for a while, then the LT buffers
would stay the same until I remotely erased them and found they wouldn't receive
new data despite valid data streaming from WX station as viewed w/a laptop
tapped into the serial data stream.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Been having one heck of a time getting my WX
station back on line. Did hard reset and programming per Bob's
reccomendations and still can't get the LTracks to copy the WX data. AB
2400, INTF GPS, GPSH 1 !!, GPSH 2 $ULTW, .... Once in a great while it will
capture a line of data, but then it will not update. I remotely access it
wipe out the old data in LT buffers and nothing. Laptop connected at same
time as KPC-3 shows valid streams of
!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx type data every second, so U-100 is
sending. In the past, turning off the KPC-3 and turning it on worked. Would
happen once every few months. Now I've swapped out TNC's, cables, power
leads (ground loop issues?), to no avail. Gonna put a U-500 up there now for
a test, but since the nearby lighting hit, it's temp is stuck on 108 deg
even w/out the probe connected! Anyone with similar issues? It's a solar
powered site, and TNC, IC-2000H, U-100 are in an insulated box. Heat from
radio keeps inside at 80+ degreres. I thought the issue was temp related,
cause it would fail on cold nights, below 22 deg F. That shouldn't be an
issue now for all parts are toasty, and were working for two months in new
home until recently.</FONT></DIV>
