That sounds pretty interesting. I am a big fan of podcasting and would love to see some amateur radio content. I think Bittorrent would be your best bet, sure, it may not be as fast as a direct download at times, but the beauty of BT is that the more seeders you have the better it is for the network, plus you don't get the $10,000 dollar bandwidth overage charge from your hosting provider(that's exaggerating of course :D)

I think you could theoretically set up a tracker on a server running from home if you are on a broadband connection. I've toyed with this idea once or twice but never got into it.

I'd like to see this happen....

I've got some videos for a free APRS related video podcast and I'm
looking for some hosting. I've considered using Google video, Video
egg or blip.tv for hosting, but this will mean that the video will be
low resolution. I'd like to distribute high-resolution video, but
files for each episode are likely to be 100 MB or larger.

I have also considered Bit Torrent distribution, but download
performance varies greatly and it is difficult to determine how many
times the video is being downloaded.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to distribute large,
high-quality, video files (preferably H.264 encoded)?

--
John Habbinga, KC5ZRQ
Lubbock, Texas
