mapping solution for search and rescue. They might download waypoints, but
they won't accept and plot unsolicited waypoints. I had a thought the
other day, though - if my new tracker had enough RAM to track a suitable number
of stations, it could pretend to be a Garmin GPS receiver, and respond to
waypoint transfer requests. It'd still be a manual process, but it'd let
you get APRS data into any program that supports Garmin waypoint
downloads.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

mode and WinPack running on the PC so I can see everything coming in. The
D700's APRS settings are set for NMEA in & out (so in APRS mode it sends
the waypoints), and my eMap is plugged into the GPS port and has a sat lock.
I first tested in TNC APRS mode and made sure it all worked, then switched
to TNC PKT mode.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
