<font face="Arial">This could be very useful if you have to give an
APRS or GPS position report (such as an accident) expressed only in
lat/long to some one without a lat/long calibrated map; i.e. an
ordinary street map. <br>
<br>
Google Maps can interpret lat/long in various formats as well as street
addresses. <br>
<br>
<br>
If you go to:<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://maps.google.com">http://maps.google.com</a> <br>
<br>
and enter a lat/long string like <br>
34 09.8435N, 118 07.0209W <br>
<br>
instead of an address string like<br>
1620 Whitefield Road, Pasadena, CA 91104<br>
<br>
into the search box at the top of the screen, it will go to the correct
location! <br>
<br>
It seems to parse degrees-minutes-seconds (DDMMSS), degrees-decimal
degrees (DD.dddd), --and-- the NMEA/GPS/APRS degrees-minutes-decimal
minutes (DD MM.mm) format, with either N/S--E/W or with +/- .<br>
