[aprssig] Extra-long hops on APRS.FI?

Looking at my own packets, I see some 9,000+ mile hops and a message:

"The range statistics show some extra long hops, because some digipeaters do not correctly add themselves to the digipeater path. 
Please check the raw packets."

I'm using an OG TM-D700A which is Mic-E encoded and the WIDE2-2 path, but I can't
see what I am doing wrong in the path per se. Just powered this back up after a few
years, but I do not recall this from before. I may have changed the old path, though.

Is this the case that many digipeaters in my area don't handle WIDE2-2 ?
