[aprssig] Why do we not use APRS 9600?

Look at my weather station - CRYC. It uses a Byonics WXTrak that runs at 1200. To move to 9600 I would need to replace that AND replace the radio it is connected to. The Digis and iGates that get my data to the internet would also all have to upgrade.
That isn't going to happen, it would be cheaper to just get a hotspot from T-Mobile or something.
